Dale passed away Saturday morning, October 13, 2012 at his residence at the age of 66 years. The son of the late Vernon and Elizabeth (Desham) Lesniak was born February 23, 1946 in Bay City. Dale was a member of the D.A.V., enjoyed listening to hard rock music, Nascar, baseball, football, poker, fishing and traveling. Dale served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict where he received the following medals; Vietnam Service Medal with one silver and one bronze service star, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Valorous Unit Citation Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster and a rifle expert. He is survived by his wife the former Nancy L. Hine whom he married October 8, 1998. Also surviving are his son; Dale D. Lesniak II, his stepson; Charles (Krystalina) Schmidt, his stepmother; Bernice Lesniak, his mother-in-law; Doris Chamberlain and his uncle; Wes Gussman. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel C. Meckes followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Cremation will follow and private inurnment will take place in Great Lake National Cemetery in Holly, MI. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
