Daniel P. Cunningham, of Bay City, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 25, 2016, age 53. He was born on August 17, 1963 in Bay City. Dan graduated from Au Gres-Sims High School and attended Eastern Michigan University. He has worked with Wal-Mart Corp. for the past 25 years, currently serving as their Regional Loss Prevention Manager. Dan enjoyed the outdoors, camping and hiking, and also caring for his large salt and fresh water fish tanks. He was an avid sports fan, especially for the Detroit Lions and Tigers.
Dan met the love of his life, Dee Ann Goosie, while working together, and they were married on January 20, 2001. He is also survived by his five children, Kayla, Tara (Greg), Kaitlin, Tori and Nathan; two grandchildren, Baby G and Mason; his mother, Yvonne (Arhutick) Cunningham; his brother, Michael (Connie); his sister, Debbie; father-in-law, Perry (Cathy) Goosie; mother-in-law, Barbara Goosie; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and his boxers, Lennox, Remi, Noami, Ellie and Rex. Dan was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Cunningham.
The Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Bay Valley Christian Church. Because Dan was such a big sports fan, his family invites guests to dress in their favorite Detroit Lions and Tigers apparel. Officiating will be Pastor Patty Mudd. Mr. Cunningham will lie instate at the church on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
