Danney Leon Matthews

Danney passed away Sunday, October 27, 2024 at Covenant Medical Center with his family by his side at the age of 76. He was born in Bay City, Michigan on April 26, 1948 to the late Leon and Barbara (Rowe) Matthews. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. He also had services in the Navy. He enjoyed riding his Harley, spending time with his family, camping and fishing.

Danney is survived by his brother, Allen (Debbie) Matthews, wife of 34 years Tammy (Rapelje) Matthews; children, Keith (Charlene) Raymond, Holly (Bryan) Griffin, Bethany (Mike) Bublitz, Tina (Jayson) Gentle, Daphne (Gary) Bushong; grandchildren, Jacob Leon, Harley David, Harmony Rose Marie, Danney Leon, Georgia Lou, Dyllan Tyler(Amanda), Nathan Lawrence, Joe, Gracie, Jareth, JaKarra and great grandchildren Baby Jack and Jett, with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents Leon Fredrick Matthews and Barbara (Rowe) Matthews, sister Regina Gibelyou, nephew Wade Lee Matthews.

At the request of Danney, Cremation has taken place and a Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Gephart Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. A Celebration Of Life will take place at Bangor Hall after services. Riders are welcome, weather permitting. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be considered to wishes of the family.
