Danny A. Schaefer

Danny passed away at his home on Friday, November 1, 2024 at the age of 75. The son of the late Arthur and Ninamae (Confer) Schaefer was born May 14, 1949 in Grayling, Michigan. Danny was retired from the City of Bay City as a lineman and served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He enjoyed golfing, boating, classic cars and ziplining. 

Danny is survived by his wife, Peggy Schaefer, who he has been with for 22 years; five children, Kristy (Dave) Brown, Aaron (Rachel) Schaefer, Anne (Brandon) Kufta, Katy Kufta and Christopher (Alisa) Kufta; six grandchildren, Bram (Maggie) Armbruster, Reed Armbruster, Joshua Howell, Celeste Kufta, Alexis Schaefer and Nate Schaefer and one great grandchild that is expected in December. 

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Jose Cabrera followed by military honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Visitation will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
