David W. Bedell

Mr. David Wayne Bedell, of Bay City, passed away Thursday morning, May 25, 2017, due to a lingering illness, age 70. The son of the late Wayne David and Caroline (Stanton) Bedell, he was born on April 15, 1947 in Bay City. David enjoyed camping, fishing and motorcycling and was a member of ABATE of Michigan. He was retired from Supreme Floor Covering where he worked for over 50 years and was an active member of Nathan Weidner Foundation. More than anything, David cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
On December 20, 1985, David married the former Elaine Marie Hemenway and she survives his passing along with four children, Tammy (Dale Jezak) Lagalo, Jason Bedell, Shari Sniff and Shelley Gleason; nine grandchildren, Brandon, Kayla (Craig), Amanda, Mason, Nikole, Danyel, Kylee, Dustin and Ferris; 6 great-grandchildren, Maddox, Raylan, Brantley, Payton, Laeden and Leighanna; a brother, James (Linda) Bedell; a sister, Gail (Don) Bedell; his mother-in-law, Garnet Hemenway; a sister-in-law, Jackie Bedell; and several other brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, David was also preceded in death by a son, Keith Bedell; a brother, Gary Bedell; and his father-in-law, Don Hemenway.
The family would like to express their sincere thanks to everyone at Bay City Dialysis for the extra special care they always gave to David.
It was David's desire for cremation to take place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Mr. Gary Reno. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
