David K. "Popeye" Rowell

Mr. David K. "Popeye" Rowell, of Bay City, passed away Saturday morning, March 18, 2017 at Close To Home Assisted Living, age 63. The son of the late George H. and Mildred (Schwabb) Rowell, II, he was born on September 13, 1953 in California. Dave was a member of The Funk Family. A free spirit his whole life, Dave was known to Live Free, Ride Harder and Love Unconditionally. March 18th will now be forever known as St. Popeye's Day.
Dave is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Judy Dyer; his children, George Rowell, Justin Rowell, Danielle (Josh) Reno, Kenneth Willett and Jessica (Brian) Rouse; his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Justin, Joey, Jacob, Marissa, Jaden, Sherry, Chelsey, Caleb, Michael, David and Mackenzie; a brother, Kenneth Rowell; and his special niece and nephews, Stacey, Craig, Jesse and Kyle. Besides his parents, Dave was also preceded in death by his wife, Sherry Rowell; a brother, George Rowell, III; his fiance, Monica Rowell; and many longtime brothers and sisters.
The Memorial Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Kenneth Thorne followed by a procession to Lincoln Road Hall.
