David P. Wagoner

David passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at his home at the age of 91. The son of the late Paul and Elma (Hall) Wagoner was born May 25, 1933 in Austin, Texas. David was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the American Legion Post 18 and the Alumni Association of Indiana State University in Terry Haute, Indiana. David proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict, was a proud NRA member and enjoyed hunting, fishing and music, he also invented the flexible decoy for pike spearing.

David is survived by his children, Duane (Cheryl) Hartman, Darwin Hartman and Christine Wagoner; sisters, Eleanor Ferguson and Josephine (Ned) McPhail; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (James) Schubbe and Emma (Larry) Nelson and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Wagoner; son, Marlin Hartman; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Domke and Violet (Donald) Robinson; brothers-in-law, Frederick (Shirley) Domke, Rufus "Rudy" Domke and Harry (Patricia) Domke. 

Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Faith Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor James Chinery with private interment following at Elm Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will take place at Faith Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to Faith Lutheran Church or the Nation Rifle Association.
