Dawn M. Katt

Our beloved Mom, Grandmother, Sister and Friend has gone to watch over us from heaven. She passed away due to a short but very hard battle with cancer. She left us on December 2, 2012 at the age of 63. The daughter of the late Robert and Margaret (Pirezak) Hammerbacher was born on September 16, 1949 in Bay City. She meant a lot to the family. When it came to rides and money or just someone to talk to she was always there. She was a funny, cocky but very kind hearted person. She loved rummage sailing and spending time with her family. She worked at Monitor Sugar Factory for 16 years. She had a lot of friends and family who supported her in her last few weeks with us. She is survived by her 4 children; Lyn Katt, Peggy Lantz and her husband Scott Lantz, Ted Katt, Wendy Katt and her fiancée Lonnie, her brothers and sisters; Sandy Whitten and Harvey, Sharon and Ron Valeck, Robert Hammerbacher and Reggie Hammerbacher, her grandkids, Josh Lantz, Kayla Bryan, Amanda Lantz, Austin Mota, Haley Katt, Teddy Katt Jr. and soon to be great grandson Mason Logan. A celebration of Dawn's life will take place Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Memorial Cards for Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
