Mrs. Deborah L. Sponenberg, 58, of Orangeville, PA, passed away Thursday afternoon, April 30, 2015, at Geinsiger Medical Center in Danville, PA.
Born in Bay City, MI on October 29, 1956, she was the daughter of James and Patsy Germain, of Wyomissing, PA. Deborah was a graduate of West Chester High School and Bloomsburg University where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Development. She was a substitute elementary school teacher for the Benton School District for approximately 20 years. Deborah also owned and operated Ribbons & Bows, LLC for 10 years.
Deb was a member of the American Fish Breeders Guild. She primarily raised South American Killifish, which she either kept or would trade with other members of the guild. She enjoyed spending time in her vegetable garden and planting flowers.
Besides her parents, Deb will be greatly missed by her loving husband of nearly 36 years, Kenneth W. Sponenberg; her daughter, Alanda Marie Sponenberg; her sister, Sandy Germain; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Jeff Temple with a graveside committal service following at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
