Dena Ada Hitz

Dena passed away unexpectedly, early Tuesday morning, May 15, 2018 at her residence. The daughter of the late Dale Sr. and Elsie (Killgrove) Brownlee on September 11, 1953 in Bay City, MI. Dena was employed as a Pharmacy Tech at the Rite Aid Pharmacy in Standish. She served as the Adams Township Supervisor and a member of the Daughters of American Revolution. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending their soccer games, she also enjoyed gardening, doing crafts and crocheting.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her husband, Gerald T. "Jerry" Hitz whom she married June 21, 1974; three daughters, Heidi Hitz, Heather (her fiancée, Dustin Jewers) Hitz and Helen (Scott) Oikarinen; her grandchildren, Adrian and Kaitlyn Oikarinen; her sisters and brothers, Georgianna (George) Lockhart, Janine (Lynn) Wilkenson, Peggy Mc Campbell, Carrie (Art) Silva, Thomas Lomasny, JoAnn (Randy) VanHoven and Alan Brownlee; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Dale Brownlee Jr.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. 201 W. Midland St. Bay City, Michigan 48706. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Atchinson with private interment in King Settlement Cemetery in Alpena, MI. The family will be present at the funeral home on Thursday to receive family and friends from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
