Dennis M. Batko

With a sad heart the family would like to announce that Dennis passed away with his brother and sister by his side on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Bayfield Assisted Living and Memory Care at the age of 74. The son of the late John and Antoinette (Dominowski) Batko was born January 21, 1950 in Bay City, Michigan. Dennis graduated from St. Stans High School in 1967 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. Dennis was retired from Bay City Powertrain after more than 30 years of service. He was a great son, brother, uncle and friend who was an avid golfer, hockey player, runner, sports fan, news junkie and social butterfly. 

Dennis is survived by his brother, Robert (Sue) Batko; favorite sister, Jeanne (Dave) Faustman; nephews, Jeff Faustman and Brett (Megan) Faustman; great nephew, Bryce Faustman; great niece, Claire Faustman and many lifelong friends he has had since grade school.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Bayfield Assisted Living and Memory Care and Corso Care Hospice for the compassion and care that they gave to Dennis. They added joy to his last few years and he probably gave them a laugh or two as well.

At the request of Dennis cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Bay County Veterans Council or the Veterans Thrift and Gift Shop of Bay City.
