Martens, Dennis K. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Martens passed away Friday, December 17, 2010 at Brian's House. Age 64 years. He was born December 4, 1946 in Bay City and has resided here all of his life. Dennis was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and was involved in many church activities, he served in the United States Army, retired from Coca-Cola after twenty plus years of service, after his retirement he was the custodian at Trinity Lutheran School. He enjoyed wood working, fishing, bowling and card playing . On January 18, 1969 he married the former Karen Dennis at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church and she survives his passing along with three sons and three daughters-in-law; Marc and Stephanie Martens of Pinconning, Kevin and Loretta Martens of Freeland and Craig and Lisa Martens of Essexville, four cherished grandchildren; Ryanna, Talan, Laina and Nathan and one sister; Sandra Ebel of Bay City. He was preceded in death by his parents; Edwin and Marian (Knopp) Martens and one brother-in-law; Kenneth Ebel. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Richard D. Starr with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Members of the Bay County Veterans Council will be present at the church following services to conduct Military Honors. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.. Mr. Martens will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service.
