Dennis passed away suddenly on Friday, October 20, 2017 while on a vacation of a lifetime in Colorado with his best friend and loving wife, Connie. Dennis was born on November 19, 1952 to Donald and Bernice (Foerster) Mehl. He married the former Connie Bauer on August 24, 1973 in Bay City. He served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. Dennis was a lifetime member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Amelith. Dennis retired on January 31, 2015 after 31 years from Quantum Composites. His passion in life was his grandchildren and his family. He was an avid outdoor enthusiast.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Connie; sons, Trever (Shannon) and Michael (Brenda); six grandchildren, Keegan, Khadra, Noah, Gavin, Taylen and Oden; mother, Bernice Mehl; four brothers, Brian (Cheryl), Rodney (Kathy), Kevin (Kim) and Kent (Tracy); many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Leslie (Shirley) and Archie (Nancy) Bauer; sister-in-law, Patsy (Ernie) May. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald; nephews, Casey Bauer and Kyle Mehl; father and mother-in-law, Roland and Florence Bauer.
Per Dennis's wishes cremation has taken place, a memorial service will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at St. John's Lutheran Church of Amelith with Rev. Stephen P. Starke officiating. Inurnment of cremains will take place in the church cemetery. Family will be present at the church on Saturday to receive visitors from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
