Our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, December 21, 2017 at Bay Shores Nursing Care Center. The daughter of the late George and Dorine (Ditchfield) Becker was born June 5, 1942 in Detroit, MI. She was a long time member of former Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church and is now a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church. Diane enjoyed going to do the church bulletin at St. Joseph Catholic Church for many years. She enjoyed doing cross stitching, gardening, bowling, shopping, taking rides with her husband up north and going on vacation, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and her friends.Left behind to cherish the memories of Diane is her husband of 56 years, Jerome Piesik whom she married on April 8, 1961; one son, Chris (Tammy) Piesik; one daughter, Kim (Dave Templin) Kokaly; her grandchildren, Vanessa (Andrew) Kuenker, Tiffany (Kyle) Westphal, Bryanna (Tom D'Ostilio) Kokaly, Tylia (Marcus Barber) Piesik; her great grandchildren, Lukas and Evan Kuenker; her sisters, Carol (Bill) Griffith, Valarie (Ken) Koening and Jeanine Becker; her special sister-in-law, Janice Badalamenti who gave Diane special guidance and assured her everything would be ok; her best friends, Yvonne Schafer, Kim Engler, Jan Jaskiewicz and Carol Jean Meyer Pasionek. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harry and Eleanor Piesik.The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Parish-St. Mary's Church (607 E. South Union, Bay City, MI 48706) . The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Patrick M. Jankowiak with the Rite of Committal following at Floral Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Diane will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family of Diane would like to extend a special thank you to Christine "Chris" at McLaren 3rd floor for her loving support and tender care she gave our mother and also the staff of Bay Shores Nursing Home.
