Bell, Donald D. Sr. Bay City, Michigan Mr. Bell Passed away Sunday, June 26, 2011 at the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. Age 88 years. The son of the late David and Grace (Fraser) Bell was born August 30, 1922 in Flint, Michigan. Donald was a conservation officer for the D.N.R., contributed to coaching and fundraising for many youth activities, developed a youth bowling league while living in Clare, was a member of the Toast Masters Club, enjoyed fishing and bird hunting, was the M.C. and president of the adult bowling league in Clare, a proficient story teller and humorist and was a WW II veteran of the South Pacific Arena. Donald is survived by his wife of 65 years the former Elizabeth G. Snable whom he married December 8, 1945; five children, Bette Wager, Barbara (Jim) Jones, Beverly (Derald) Gullekson, Bonnie (Diane Bunting) Bell and Donald (Cherie) Bell Jr.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert (Colleen) Bell; one sister, Lorraine (James) Meerdo; one sister-in-law, Nelle Soulsby and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Donald was also preceded in death by five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. At the request of Mr. Bell cremation has taken place and there will be no services at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the American Legion, Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Grace Hospice or Helping Hand Home Care.
