Donald Maxwell Blake Jr.

Blake, Donald Maxwell Jr. Sanford, Michigan Mr. Blake passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 82. The son of the late Donald Maxwell and Edith Belle Blake Sr. was born March 25, 1934 in Toledo, Ohio. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford. Mr. Blake retired from Dow Chemical Company as a research chemist. He enjoyed still life painting, wood carving, hunting, fishing, participating in triathlons and watching his grandson play baseball. He was a life time blood donor. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Left behind to cherish his memories are his wife, Jacqueline Blake; his children, Beth Billingsley, Cynthia Blake and Aaron (Amy) Blake; his stepchildren, Cindy (Steve) Henderson and Christopher Lohr; four grandchildren; three great- grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and six step-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Blake. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. 201 W. Midland St. Bay City, MI 48706 on Friday October 21, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to receive family and friends. A Private Family Graveside Service and Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council will follow at Floral Gardens Cemetery.
