Donald passed away early Tuesday morning September 26, 2017 at the Toni & Trish House, Auburn. Age 86 years. Don was born in Freeland, Michigan on June 13, 1931 to the late Robert and Caroline (Reichard) Guettler. He married the former Lillian F. Pavlica on September 15, 1956 and were married for 61 years. Don proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a life-long member of the St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church where he was active in the Men's Club and finance committee, he was also a trustee and an usher. Don retired from Kirchman Brothers Company after 43 years. Don loved spending time with his grandchildren, and was very social in the community, especially at coffee hour. He also had a passion for woodworking. Surviving are his wife, Lillian; four children, Nancy (George) Klemm, Michael (Robyn) Guettler, Mark Guettler and Barbara (Scott) Rahn; eleven grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew (Tiffany) and Jason Klemm, Zachary (Brianne), Jacob and Karly Fischer, Megan, Mark and Noah Guettler, Heather and Andrew Rahn; two great grandchildren, Emily and Amelia and baby Fischer on the way in January; brother, John (Delores) Guettler; two sisters, Lorna (Richard) Dietlein and Caroline Traxler; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Maynard, sister, Maryann and grandson Thomas Fischer. Per Don's wishes cremation has taken place, a memorial service will take place at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. officiating will be Rev. Paul E. Schaewe followed by military honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
