Donald Harold Hoppe

Mr. Hoppe passed away Monday June 13, 2016 at his residence. Age 89 years. The son of the late Fred and Amelia (Ruppel) Hoppe was born November 15, 1926 in Saginaw, MI. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Mr. Hoppe retired from Consumers Energy as supervisor. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, doing yard work, his grandchildren and attending their sporting events. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during W.W.II. Left behind to cherish his memory is his wife of sixty seven years, Vivian Louise (Bridgewater) Hoppe; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mike Piotrowski; two sons and three daughters-in-law, Dan and Peijin Hoppe; Curtis and Maureen Hoppe and Kim Hoppe; ten grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; his brothers, Fred, John, Carl and Ernie; his sisters, Esther, Helen and Betty. In addition to his parents he was also preceded by his son Larry Hoppe; two brothers, Dave and Elmer and one sister, June. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Thursday June 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Officiating will be Rev. Daniel C. Meckes. Private interment will take place in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. to receive family and friends. Mr. Hoppe will be taken to the church on Thursday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
