Don Roedel went home to our Lord on Friday, March 28, 2014. Age 92 years. He was born in Bay City, Michigan to Charles and Louise (Reichenbach) Roedel on September 9, 1921 and married Marian Foerster August 21, 1947. Don and Marian shared 66 years together before her death December 31, 2013. Together they enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling and gardening. During WWII Don served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Nitro and US PCE 843 and was proud to have crossed through the Panama Canal several times. Don retired as a Master Plumber and Mechanical Estimator and was a member of Local 816 and Saginaw Plumbers and Fitters Local #85. Don was a talented artist, creating many beautiful watercolor scenes and large garden sculptures.
Survivors include son: John (Ann) Roedel of Bay City, daughter: Susan (Steve) Frank of Sanford, grandsons: Ross, Marc Roedel, brother: Warren (Jean) Roedel of San Marcos, TX. Sisters-in-law: Irene (Elmer) Taglauer and Gertrude Foerster, also many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife he was predeceased by brothers: Niles (Isabel) Roedel, Robert (Catherine) Roedel, sister: Arlene (Emil) Rummel. Also brothers-in-law: Roland (Edna) Foerster and Clarence Foerster.

Funeral and Committal services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 31, 2014 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Paul E. Schweppe with private interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
