Donna Marie Strauss

Mrs. Donna Marie Strauss, our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Sister, went to be home with the Lord and her beloved Marvin on Friday evening, May 12, 2017 at Bay Comfort Care, age 84. The daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (McCann) Mahar, she was born on December 7, 1932 in Bay City. Donna was an active member of Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church. She enjoyed occasional trips to the casino, knitting and gardening, especially taking care of her flowers. Most of all, Donna cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Marvin D. Strauss in 2016. She is survived by her children, Richard J. (Marie) Strauss, Cathy A. (Robin) Hanvey, Thomas L. (Michelle) Strauss and Annie M. (Wade) Eckenrod; her grandchildren, Dawn, Becky, Alaina, Bonnie, Angie, Adam, Andrew, Jacob and Alec; and her great-grandchildren, Braxton, Beckham, Henrick, Jordan and Cole; a sister, Mary Jo Duford; and a brother-in-law, Delbert Fox. Donna was also preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Strauss and one grandson, David Strauss. The Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert J. Kelm. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the Vigil Service beginning at 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Strauss will lie instate at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
