Nelson, Doris Annette, MD Sterling, Michigan Doris Annette Nelson, MD passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning July 7, 2013 in West Branch, Michigan. Age 47 years. She was born October 24, 1965 in Kaflevik, Iceland. Doris graduated from John Glenn High School in 1983 and went on to become a LPN and a RN. She furthered her education and career and received her Doctorate of Medicine from American University of the Caribbean, Montserrat, British West Indies. She was a Plastic Surgeon at the Medical Arts Bldg. in West Branch had a great love for the outdoors and enjoyed her pets and wild animals. She served with the United States Airforce Reserve. On February 24, 2010 she married her high school sweetheart John Lee Stratton in Standish, MI and he survives her passing along with her parents; Beverly and John Kreger of Standish, and Kenneth and Charlene Nelson of Zephyrhills, FL, one step brother; Joe Nelson and his wife Jackie, one step sister; Kim Johnson and her friend Bill, grandmother-in-law; Pauline Stratton, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Dean and Cheryl Stratton, Dan Stratton, Leo Stratton, Vicki Stratton and Debbie Lauria, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Leo and Carolyn Stratton, grandparents; Ted and Edith Berry and Clarence and Lorraine Nelson and one sister-in-law; Tammy Stratton. Funeral and Committal Services will take place Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. 201 W. Midland St. Bay City, Michigan 48706. Officiating will be John T. Wall III . At the request of Doris cremation will take place at the Sunset Valley Crematory. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for the Wishes of the Family will be available at the funeral home.
