Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend passed away peacefully at the age of 85 on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at Brian's House. Dorothy was born on December 9, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Carl and Effie (Collisi) Yost. After the death of her mother before the age of one she was raised by her very special Aunt Em(ma) Yost. Dorothy married Leonard A. Eickel on May 19, 1962 in Wadsworth Presbyterian church in Saginaw, Michigan. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2012. Dorothy graduated from Saginaw High, worked for Mitts & Marrel, and Montgomery Ward's in Saginaw before becoming a full time mother. Dorothy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian church for over fifty years, where she served as an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher. She also delivered Mobile Meals for over forty years and was a member of Tops 11:45 and Bodacious Belles Red Hats. She was also an election volunteer for several years. She was known to all of her Bay City fireman friends as "Fred". Dorothy enjoyed life with her family, teaching the grand and greats to play cards. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends, taking vacations, going to lunch and having a glass of wine. Dorothy is survived by her children, Steven A. (Renee) Eickel, Kim T. (Joseph) Shotwell, Linda S. (Richard) Stein and Brian L. (Carolyn) Eickel. Her wonderful grandchildren, Timothy (Angela) Shotwell, Rachelle (Kane) Anderson, Chad (Janette) Eickel, Casey (Ashley) Stein, Ryan Stein, Laura (Christopher) Pierce, Megan Stein, Zachary Eickel and Ian Eickel; along with seven great grandchildren, Madison, Allie and Avery Anderson, Ema and Luke Shotwell and Audrey Stein. She also leaves behind a sister, Janet (Theodore) Metiva; brother and sisters-in-law Betty and Bill Murphy, Karen and John Worden, Gayle and Mark Wood as well as several nieces and nephews and her cat Louie. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia M. Yost, sister, Geraldine (Gene) Miller, brother, Harold (Margaret) Baugh, her special mothers, Emma Yost and Lillie Baugh, her in-laws, Leonard (Turk) and Lily Eickel. Per Dorothy's request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian church on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Matthew Schramm officiating.
