Dorothy passed away Friday, June 14, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region at the age of 92 years. Dorothy was born in Flint, Michigan on June 7, 1927 to the late Ernest and Nellie (Bodrie) Brancheau. On July 1, 1950 she married Ernest LaFave in Prudenville and he passed away in March of 1991. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish and the Daughters of Isabella. In her spare time she enjoyed watching her grandchildren, going to the casino and playing BINGO.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Michele, Annette and Ernest (Janet) LaFave, Suzette Ulman, Paulette (David) Pashak, Leslie (Lorin) Middleton, Alan LaFave and Roxanne (Ed) Spegel; grandchildren, April (Jon) Fox, Bethaney, Nathan (Lindsay) and Jordan (Margaux) LaFave, Sarah (Jeff) Henicle, Jessica (Kyle) Gerard, Jaren (Elena) Pashak, Mason Pashak, Ken Spegel, Jody (Karl) Brown, Kelly (Adam) Russell and Louis (Alicia) Spegel; great grandchildren, Faith, Sydney and Carter Fox, Holden and Isla Brown and Clara Russell; sister, Nellie Karamol; sister-in-law, Dolores LaFave and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother and 4 sisters.
Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place at St. Catherine of Siena Parish on Monday, June 17, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge with private interment in St. Michael's Cemetery Pinconning. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. LaFave will be taken to the church to lie in state on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
