Niemann, Dorothy J. Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Niemann passed away Monday morning September 14, 2015 at her residence with her family at her side. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late Ira and Clara (Boehm) Wilson was born on January 19, 1923 in Bay City and has resided here all of her life. She was a lifelong member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, graduated from Bay City Central High School class of 1941 and was the Co-owner of Niemann Decorating with her husband Bill. Dorothy made a good home for Bill and her children. She took an active role in the lives of her children and had a passion for taking care of them. With love and understanding, Dorothy raised her children knowing they could always count on her. Throughout their lives she was there for them, and loved them unconditionally. She enjoyed cooking, baking and certainly had her own interests, especially when it came to gardening and caring for her lawn. She enjoyed working outside and was very proud of the appearance of her home. Left behind to cherish her memories are one son; William W. Niemann of Bay City, one daughter; Kathleen J. Niemann of Kalamazoo, two sisters-in-law; Patricia Wilson of Essexville and Mildred Leppek of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. On June 26, 1948 she married William A. Niemann and he preceded her in death on December 11, 1987. She was also preceded in death by one sister; Ruth Wilson, three brothers and one sister-in-law; Howard Wilson, Donald and Virginia Wilson and Jack Wilson and one brother-in-law; Virgil Leppek. The family would like to extend a special thank you and appreciation of gratitude to those who enriched moms life, the staff at McLaren Home Care, McLaren Hospice Team, Comfort Keepers Caregivers, Golden Horizons, American Legion Post 18, Jennifer her hairdresser, and Marilyn, the dog who always made mom smile! Funeral and Committal Service will take place Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Charles Campbell with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the funeral home to receive visitors on Thursday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider a memorial to the Golden Horizons.
