Dorothy J. (Rivet) Burke

Mrs. Burke passed away Monday evening, November 23, 2015 at McLaren Bay Special Care Hospital with her family by her side. Age 79 years. The daughter of the late Harry and Mabel (Kleinke) Rivet was born October 12, 1936 in Bay City, Michigan. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. Mrs. Burke was active member of her church; she was involved in the Food for Faith Program and served as Eucharistic Minister. In her free time she delivered Mobile Meals. She retired from Bay City O.G.P.C. and Bay Medical Center as an L.P.N. Left behind to cherish her memory are two daughters; Victoria Lynn (Kurt) Curtis of Mansfield of Ohio, Donna Jean Gabriel of Clare, MI, her grandchildren; Ryan and Brett Curtis, Samantha and Lindsay Gabriel, her brother; Michael Rivet, her sisters-in-law; Joan Rivet of Bay City, Joan Rivet of Rose City and Cheryl Burke of Auburn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband; Donald Burke on January 22, 1998, her sisters; Sally Moquin and Barbara Bowen, her brothers; Harry Jr., Robert and Tom Rivet, her grandmother; Lillian Schumann. At the request of Mrs. Burke cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place Monday, November 30, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine Siena Parish (2956 E. North Union Rd., Bay City, Michigan 48706). Rev. Fr. John S. Sarge and Sister Virgina Scally, SNDdeN will officiate over the funeral rites. The family will be present at the church on Monday to receive family and friends from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services.
