Dorothy M. Senn

SENN, Dorothy M. of Bay City, Michigan. Mrs. Senn passed away Monday afternoon, March 1, 2010 at the Carriage House Nursing Home, age 97 years. She was the daughter of Lydia (Bakus) and Emil Yonka and was born in Bay City on March 23, 1912. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Saginaw. She had a career as Sales Manager of the former Gately's Store in Bay City and later sold real estate in Bay City and Florida. She and her husband, Ned, spent many happy years in Bradenton, Florida where they enjoyed performing as members of a square dance club. They had many friends there, who joined them on several cruises and bus tours. On April 26, 1930 she married Ned E. Senn, and they enjoyed 77 years together. He died on September 3, 2007. Surviving is her daughter, Jacqueline and her husband Donald Seidel of Bay City. Also grandchildren: Scott A. Seidel of California, Holly (Douglas) Hartz of Bay City, Jeffrey M. (Teresa) Seidel of West Bloomfield, MI, David J. (Amy) Seidel of Jenison, MI, Susan LeBlanc of Lincoln Park, MI, Mark (Patricia) Senn of Caro, MI and Brian (Diane) Senn of Bay City. Also several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith R. and Rita Senn and her sisters, Jeannette Seifferly and Winifred Clough. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nursing staff at the Carriage House for their loving care and patience given to Dorothy during her stay there. Funeral Services will be Friday, March 5, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Don Henderson with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services.
