Duane Carmen Engerer

Engerer, Duane Carmen Bay City, Michigan Mr. Engerer passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at Standish Hospital-St. Mary's of Michigan. Age 84 years. The son of the late Tobias and Clara (Knoellinger) Engerer was born October 25, 1928 in Freeland, Michigan. He was formerly employed at Hirshfield and Company in Bay City, served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid reader and enjoyed watching black and white movies. Duane is survived by one brother and sister-in-law; Robert and Elberta Engerer of Rhodes, one nephew; Thomas and Rose Ribble, one great nephew; Brian Ribble and two great nieces; Angela Tovey and Ashley Ribble. Besides his parents Tobias and Clara he was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother-in-law; Shirley and Thomas Ribble and Rose Marie Engerer and one great nephew; Tom Ribble Jr. A Grave Side Service will take place Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Fremont Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Daniel C. Meckes under the Auspices of the Bay County Veterans Council. At the request of Mr. Engerer cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Memorial cards for Faith Lutheran Church will be available at the funeral home.
