Duane O. Howden

Duane passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 at his residence with his family by his side at the age of 78 years. Duane was born on February 17, 1941 in Standish to the late Oscar and Rose (Cooley) Howden. He married the former Dorothy Malenfant (Gentile) in Bay City on September 3, 1988. Duane attended church at the First Pentecostal Church and worked and retired from General Motors in 2004 after 24 years. He was a member of Local 1292 and loved antique cars and watching birds.
Duane is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Lisa Gibson, Darryl Howden, Harvey Dexter, Brenda Malenfant and Kevin (Debbie) Malenfant; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Nobbs and Carol (Mike) Talbert. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his children, Sherry, Karen and Clara and brother Gale.
Funeral and committal services will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11, 2019 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Pastor Michael Wood with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the time of the service.
