Arnold, Edgar Clayton Bay City, Michigan Edgar Clayton Arnold passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at Brian's House at the age 96 years. Edgar was born May 3, 1915, to the late Frank and Alice (O'Leary) Arnold of Pontiac, MI. The family moved to Caro and Ed graduated from Caro High School and attended Ferris State University. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He married Mabel C. Deering in Detroit, February 22, 1940 and she survives him. Before locating in Bay City he owned and operated the old Heidelburg Inn Sebewaing. Ed is an Army Veteran of W.W. II. Ed is best remembered as a real estate agent in and around Bay County for well over 50 years. Ed enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and spending time family time up north at the "Suits Us Arnold's" cabin. He has left his family with many creatively written stories. He is survived by his wife Mabel and four children; Barbara (Michael) McMann of Kalamazoo, Tudi (Ted) Sprague of Big Canoe, GA; Gene (Ann) Arnold and Timothy Arnold of Bay City, a nephew; Bob (Niecie) Carson, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Also surviving his passing is a good friend; Ray Halasinski. In addition to his parents Edgar was also preceded in death by a son; Thomas Lee Arnold in 1987 , one sister; Ardiss Poole, a brother; Eber Arnold. Funeral services will take place Saturday, November 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Ted Sprague with interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery with Military Honor's conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers the family would like memorials in Ed's name to the Bay County Division on Aging and will be available at the funeral home. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
