Edna June Bennett

Bennett, Edna June Bellaire, Michigan formerly of Bay City, Michigan Edna passed away Saturday, May 14, 2011 at U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Age 80 years. The daughter of the late Daniel and Minnie (Stout) Keipinger was born June 20, 1930 in Bay City, MI. She was a member of Bellaire Community United Methodist Church and a former member of Fraser Road Church of God. Edna delivered meals on wheels, an active volunteer for, John Glenn Band Boosters, the P.T.A., Girl Scouts of America, Muscular Dystrophy Association, American Cancer Society, served as Church Treasurer and a Sunday School Teacher. She enjoyed gardening and reading. She is survived by her husband; Clarence V. "Sonny" Bennett of Bellaire, MI, her children; Daniel (Diane) Bennett of Bellaire, MI, and Ann (Kris) Ockomon of Anderson, IN, six grandchildren; Josh (Penny) Bennett, Aaron Bennett, Jacob (Sara) Bennett, Rachel (Shawn) Hyatt-Hiebert, Craig (Cecile) Hyatt and Amanda Ockomon, four great grandchildren, one sister; Betty Kingham, one step-brother; Bruce Cunningham, many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by one daughter; Janette Hyatt and one sister; Dorothy Ebbert. Funeral Services will take place Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Fraser Road Church of God. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Karp with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Edna will be taken to the church on Wednesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
