Edna E. Preston

Edna E. Preston Bay City, Michigan Edna E. Preston, of Bay City, passed away Thursday night, August 8, 2013 at McLaren Bay Region, age 83. The daughter of the late Edward & Bertha Elizabeth (Allor) LaPan, she was born June 30, 1930 in Bay City. Edna was a wonderful caregiver and touched many lives. Besides helping to raise her 15 brothers and sisters as well as her own six children, she was a caregiver and babysitter for over 40 years to many other children. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Preston, Sr. on June 22, 2009. She is survived by her six children, Richard (Connie) Preston, Jr. of Bay City, Eileen (John) Palozwy of Connecticut, Edward (K.C.) Wieland of Virginia, Carol (Henry) Chaffin of East China Twp., Michigan, Emil Wieland & Charlotte of Illinois and Agnes Buccierri of Connecticut; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Gene LaPan of Maine; three sisters, Maggie Cygan of Pinconning, Agnes Johnroe of Kawkawlin and Joanne Preston of Bay City; and many nieces & nephews. The Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Major Michael Myers of the Bay City Salvation Army. Private interment will be at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
