Our loving father, grandfather and brother passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. The son of the late Louis and Catherine (Brzecziewicz) Poineau was born January 18, 1930 in Saginaw, MI. He retired from CSX Railroad as a chief crew dispatcher. Mr. Poineau had a great passion for wine making and did it competitively and received numerous gold and silver awards in wine International competitions, he was also a professional Trapper for over 40 years and a member of the Trappers Association. He was an avid sports fan and was involved in the grandparents reading program at Reese Elementary School. Mr. Poineau served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and was a member of the Carrolton V.F.W. Post #1859. Left behind to cherish his memory are his children; Timothy (Donna Jean) Poineau, Pamela Mercier and Perry Poineau, his grandchildren; Shelli Poineau, Derek Poineau and Heather (Richard) Bartel, his brothers and sisters; Roy Poineau, Genevieve Cooper, William (Gail) Poineau, Nancy (Roger) Lichon, Lucille Watz and Joan (Gerald) Wisniewski, his sisters-in-law; Betty Loth, Marion Poineau and Mary Poineau, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Dona Poineau, his grandson; Scott Poineau, his sisters and brothers; Margaret Taras, Daniel Poineau, Louis Poineau, Floyd Poineau, Irene Fijak, Bernard Poineau and Thomas Poineau. At the request of Mr. Poineau cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. George J. Serour followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council and the U.S. Army and private inurnment in Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Reese. The family will be present at the funeral home on Tuesday to receive family and friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services.
