Mr. Roksiewicz passed Saturday August 27, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 86 years. The son of the late Anthony and Frances ( Skrzypczak) Roksiewicz was born October 13, 1925 in Turner, Michigan. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, American Legion Post 104 and VFW Post 3724 of Arenac County and served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Ed was the former owner of Bay TV and Lafayette Radio and was an avid golfer. Nothing delighted him more than Airshows. His favorite was the Parade of the Grumman Cats He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law; Sharon L. and Michael Young of Jackson, Michigan, one son; Edward R. "Butch" Roksiewicz of Bay City, one granddaughter; Jodie Neu and her husband Greg of Horton, Michigan, nephew; Rick Roksiewicz and his wife Joan, niece; Bonnie Roksiewicz, great nieces and nephew; Kyle, Joe and Amanda Roksiewicz, one sister-in-law; Judith Bryan and her four children; Kimberly Perry and her husband Michael, Kristyn Jackman, Todd Dowler and Brock Howell, his special friend; Mary Ulrich and her daughters; Pat Ulrich, Connie Ulrich and Kathy Wirsing and her husband Gary. On July 15, 1950 he married his wife Mary Jane and she preceded him in death on August 23, 1991. Ed was also preceded in death by one brother Joseph Roksiewicz, one nephew; Joseph Roksiewicz and one niece; Cherie Roksiewicz. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church followed by Military Honors Conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm. Private Entombment will take place in Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw, Michigan. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. Monday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Roksiewicz will be taken to the Church on Wednesday to lie in state from 9:00 a.m. and until the time of service. Memorial cards for American Legion or V.F.W. of Arenac County will be available at the funeral home.
