Eleanor K. Hartley

Mrs. Hartley passed away December 20, 2024, at Charter Senior Living in Essexville at the age of 83. Eleanor was born on April 16, 1941, in Bay City, Michigan to the late Charles Johnson and Laura (Gero). She graduated from Central High School in 1959. Eleanor was married to Robert Hartley August 3, 1963, for 56 years until Robert’s passing on November 12, 2019. 

Eleanor was actively involved in many ministries of Trinity Episcopal Church to include Food of Faith, Saint Paul Soup Kitchen, Alter Guild, Harvest Dinner, and the Saint Paul Feeding Ministry in Saginaw. She also worked for many years on the Bay City Fireworks Festival, River of Time, and The March of Dimes organization. She passed away in the loving care of her two sons David (Cindy) and Thomas (Marva) and Charter Senior Living in Bay City, MI.

Eleanor is survived by her two sons David (Cindy) Hartley of Bay City, MI and Thomas (Marva) Hartley of Bentley, Michigan; seven grandchildren, Mitchell Hartley (Jeanie Boyd), Alex Hartley, Emily Hartley, Paige Hartley (Chris Pease), Klarissa Priebe (Cody), Dale Henderson and Andrew (Marisol Hernandez) and one great grandchild Mariana Hartley. 

She will be missed by all that she touched. A special thank you to the Charter Assisted Living and American Hospice Care teams for their loving care of our mother.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Officiating will be The Rev. Sue Rich with burial and committal in Elm Lawn Cemetery. The family will be present at the church to receive family and friends on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
