Eleanor A. Shutt, age 97, passed away peacefully at her home on May 17th, with her daughter by her side. Eleanor was born December 31, 1919 in Saginaw Township to George Michael and Wilhelmina (Feinaur) Reiss and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Sandy, special niece and nephew, Connie and James Anderson, great niece, Courtney Anderson, of whom she was so proud and special friend, Mary Gibson, who she considered a second daughter, along with her sisters, Rosetta Norlock and Caroline Behmlander of Bay City, Leona Eisenmann of Kawkawlin, Loretta Reinecke of Jackson and Irene Ulhmer of Ohio, sisters-in-law, Loretta (Frank) Reiss and Verna (Norman) Reiss, plus numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death and will be welcomed into Heaven by her siblings, brothers Oscar, Kurt, Fred "Fritz", Norman, Frank, Clarence and Arthur, sisters Verna Latoski, Charlotte Bli and Cecelia Crane, brothers-in-law, Jim Uhlmer, Adolph Behmlander, Al Norlock, Richard Reinecke, Harlan Eisenmann, Ernest Bli and sisters-in-law Beverly (Clarence) Reiss and Molly (Arthur) Reiss. Eleanor led a very eclectic life, doing everything from being a Girl Scout leader to an electrical welder at Defoe Shipyards. She was an accomplished gardener, enjoyed sewing and quilting, plus going out to local restaurants and seeing her friends. Per Eleanor's request, there will be no visitation and private arrangements have been entrusted to the Gephart Funeral Home, with entombment at St. Patrick's Mausoleum.
