Elizabeth "Betty" Jane Lewandowski

Lewandowski, Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Lewandowski passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016 at her residence. Age 92 years. The daughter of the late John and Valva (Tilley) Wazny was born September 8, 1923 in Auburn, Michigan. Mrs. Lewandowski was a member of Corpus Christi Parish She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed reading, crocheting and the casino. Mrs. Lewandowski is survived by her four children, Barbara Toporski of Bay City, Richard Lewandowski of Bay City, Elizabeth (Danny) Guthrie of Shepherd, Michigan and Linda (Tom) Nothelfer of Texas; thirteen grandchildren; thirty one great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren; one brother, William (Cathy) Wazny; one sister Shirley (Bill) Sargeson and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Mrs. Lewandowski was also preceded in death by her husband, Aloysius Lewandowski on November 16, 1994; two grandchildren, Gary Toporski and Jacqueline Lewandowski; one sister, Wilma (Hogan) Ryan; one brother, John Wazny II; two sisters-in-law and three brothers-in-law. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of heartland hospice, especially Jennifer and the staff at Hampton Manor. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Corpus Christi Parish - Holy Trinity Church. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Robert S. Gohm. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mrs. Lewandowski will be taken to the church to lie in state on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
