Elizabeth P. Streu, of Bay City, passed away peacefully on Monday night, September 15, 2014 at Luther Manor Nursing Home in Saginaw, age 90. The daughter of the late Robert William & Goldie Evelyn (Henry) Casto, she was born February 18, 1924 in Curtis Twp., Michigan. Elizabeth graduated from Bay City Central High School where she was the girls' tennis State Champion in 1942. She was retired from Prestolite Corp. as an administrative secretary after many years of service. Elizabeth was a longtime, active member of Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church and was a volunteer secretary at Bethel School for several years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, tending to her flowers and writing poetry. Elizabeth is survived by her son-in-law, Jeff (Susan) Crabtree of Saginaw; four grandchildren, Greg (Laura) Crabtree, Matthew Crabtree, Stephanie (Jason) Lee and Sarah (Ryan) Absher; her great-grandchildren, Blake & Emily Lee and Madelyn Absher; her sister, Ann (Tom) Miller of Alpena; and several nieces & nephews. Besides her parents, Elizabeth was also preceded in death by her husband, Floyd F. Streu in 2001; her daughter, Cynthia Crabtree in 2010; and her two brothers, Ted Casto and Tom Casto. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church, 749 N. Pine St., Bay City. Officiating will be Rev. Mark Luetzow. Private interment will be in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 1:00 to 5:00 & 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Elizabeth will lie instate at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Ev. Lutheran Church or Bethel Ev. Lutheran School. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
