Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother passed away Monday, November 23, 2020 at her residence, at the age of 91. The daughter of the late Albert and Martha S. (Beiser) Kloha was born May 25, 1929 in Kochville, Township. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Ellen was a seamstress and owned and operated Custom Draperies. She enjoyed playing euchre and was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Gwen (Bob) Goehner, Joan Block and Sheri (LeRoy) Schumann; nine grandchildren, Tim (Kristin) Hardy, Rev. Jamison (Wendy) Hardy, Mindy (Rob) Talbert, Scott (Dani) Goehner, Adam (Katie) Goehner, Carl (Jamie) Goehner, Kevin (Nikki) Block, Sarah (Tyson) Gasta and Chris Schumann, seventeen great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, LeRoy (Lucille) Hardy, Wayne (Deb) Hardy, Carol Hardy-Coty and Jan Kloha; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Hack" Hardy whom she married September 24, 1949; her son Daniel Hardy; her son-in-law, Dennis Block; her sisters, Doris (Walter) Schmidt, Lillian (Bill) Taylor and Loraine Kloha, her brothers, Elmer Kloha and Howard (Shirley) Kloha, brothers-in-law and sisters-law, Vernon (Ella Mae) Hardy, Marion Jakubiak and Larry Hardy. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her granddaughter Mindy Talbert for the special care she gave to Gram. Along with Heartland Hospice staff for their kind and compassionate care.
Funeral and Committal Services will take place Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with a limited capacity, social distancing and facemask being required at church. Officiating will Rev. Jamison Hardy with private interment in Floral Gardens Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home on Friday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. At the current time we are allowed 25 people in the chapel at one time and we are requiring social distancing and face coverings. You may experience a short wait while paying your respects to the family. Ellen will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to Zion Lutheran Church or Heartland Hospice.
