Ellen C. Koch

Ellen passed away early Friday afternoon, September 6, 2019 at Green Acres Assisted Living in Cedar Springs, MI with her family by her side, at the age of 87. The daughter of the late Charles and Alma Schumann was born October 4, 1931 in Bay City, Michigan. She and her husband, Norbert were founding members of Faith Lutheran Church and Ellen was also the Choir Director at church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, drawing and loved to sit for hours watching the birds outside her window.
Left behind to cherish her memories are two daughters, Janet (Jerry) Dominowski and Amy; her grandchildren, Zachary, Caitlin and Joshua Dominowski and Andrew Dennis. In addition to her parents she was also preceded by her husband, Norbert H. Koch whom passed away February 19, 1988.
Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Matt Hall with interment following in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home to receive family and friends on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Ellen will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
