Elmer passed away early Saturday morning, December 23, 2017 at Brian's House with his family by his side, age 95 years. Elmer was born on September 20, 1922 to the late Christian and Minnie (Vogel) Schwartz in Bay City. Elmer enjoyed farming, polka dancing and was a member of Linda Lee Booster Club and Denny Ewald and the Music Makers. He also enjoyed sitting in his recliner looking out the windows.
Elmer is survived by his daughter, Susan (Tom) Fodo; grandchildren, Alyssa (Jacob) and Ryan Horne; great grandchildren, Kaydence and Kylie; close cousin, Larry Loll; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Gertrude whom he married on September 29, 1951; brothers, Floyd, Raymond, Lawrence and his twin brother, Alfred and his sister, Irene Loll.
Friends may visit with the family at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. At the request of Mr. Schwartz no funeral service will take place. Private burial will take place in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to make a memorial contribution to the wishes of the family.
