Emil M. Marcet, of Saginaw (formerly of Bay City), passed away Saturday May 21, 2011 at St. Francis Home in Shields, age 87. The son of the late Michael & Kay Marcet, he was born August 31, 1923 in Flint. Emil was retired from Valley Manufacturing Co. in Bay City and was also a reserve officer for the Bay City and Saginaw Police Departments. He enjoyed listening to his police scanners and playing cards and was an avid golfer and Detroit Tigers fan. Emil is survived by his wife, the former Marcella J. Ryan; two sons, Wayne (Doris) Marcet of Bay City and Ronald E. Marcet & his fiancée Jan Adamski of Bay City; a step-son, Tom (Bette) Ryan of Bay City; four grandchildren, Wayne (Jackie) Marcet, Jr., Terry (Bev) Marcet, Billy Marcet and Michael Marcet & his fiancée Jessica Muntz; three great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; his brother, Marco (Sophie) Marcet of Frankenmuth; and a nephew, Jerry Marcet of Bay City. Besides his parents, Emil was also preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Marcet in 1971; and a nephew, Mark Marcet. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Tuesday May 24, 2011 at the Gephart Funeral Home. The Rev. William W. Boli will of ficiate. Private interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 to 5:00 & 7:00 to 9:00p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00am until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
