Erwin Louis (Ludwig) Rauschert

Rauschert, Erwin Louis (Ludwig) of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Thursday morning August 30, 2012 at the Cartwright Care Center. Age 97 years. He was born April 14, 1915 in Monitor Township and has resided there all of his life. Erwin was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor and was a farmer for seventy three years. He is survived by two sons and two daughters-in-law; Melvin and Maureen Rauschert of Bay City and James and Elaine Rauschert of Lansing, one daughter; Judy Rauschert of Bay City, three grandchildren; Jeffery and Jennifer Rauschert, Beth Rauschert and Eric Rauschert, six great grandchildren; Tiffany, Douglas, Emily, Ethan, Carter and Justin Rauschert and several nieces and nephews. On May 2, 1942 he married the former Elna Mary Wegener in Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor by Rev. Herman Potzger and she preceded him in death on July 18, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents; Tobias and Sophia (Quintel) Rauschert two brothers; Rudy and Edwin Rauschert and two sisters; Clara Engerer and Laura Krentz. Funeral services will take place Sunday September 2, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor. Officiating will be Rev. David F. Sherry with interment following in Fremont Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Saturday from 2:00 to 5:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mr. Rauschert will be taken to the church on Sunday to lie in state from 1:00 p.m. and until the time of services. Memorial cards for Trinity Lutheran Church of Monitor - "Time To Build" or Hospice will be available at the funeral home.
