Dishaw, Esther JuneBay City, Michigan Esther June Dishaw, a lifelong resident of Bay City passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Bay County Medical Care Facility. She was born on August 25, 1925 in Bay City to the late Conrad and Anna (Stele) Meyer. Esther enjoyed gardening, shopping and traveling with her daughters, playing cards, spiritual reading and her pastime was rooting for her grandchildren at their ball games. She is survived by her four children and their spouses; two daughters; Donna and Ronald Bukowski and Sandra and Gregg Persons all of Bay City, two sons; Larry and Sue Dishaw of Swartz Creek and Thomas and Marcy Dishaw of Bad Axe. Also left to cherish her memory are ten grandchildren; Nicolas Persons, presently in international exchange student studying in Aaman, Jordan, Thomy Dishaw of Baltimore, Maryland, Gabriel Dishaw, Jillian (Michael) Lumsford and Caleb Dishaw all of Indianapolis, Indiana, Trisha Hamby of Wheatfield, IN, Alex Merritt of Lansing, Tracy (Jerry) Hites of Bay City, Scott Persons of Bay City and Justin Sweeney of Bad Axe. She is also survived by one very special great grandchild; Christian Hamby, who was always able to bring a twinkle to Grandma?s eyes, one brother and sister-in-law; Robert and Geraldine Meyer and the father of her children; Donald (Catharine) Dishaw, many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents Esther was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law; Alec Meyer and Edward and Janet Meyer, five sisters and five brothers-in-law; Molly and Russell Kern, Mary and Ervin Haberland, Martha and Albert Helmreich, Rachel and Eugene Shann and Elaine and Donald Lear. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the entire staff of Bay County Medical Care Facility for the kind and compassionate care they have given to their mother for the last four plus years. A special thanks to the staff at one east and most especially to her wonderful aids; Mary and Rita. We Love You All. Funeral and committal services will take place Friday, February 12, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Unity Church of Bay City 3736 State St. Road.. Officiating will be Rev. Linda Pye with private interment in Green Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Esther will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. and until the time of services. Those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Arthritis Foundation, Bay County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary or the donor?s favorite charity.
