Esther L. Rusch

Rusch, Esther L. Bay City, Michigan Esther passed away Monday, December 26, 2011 at Bay Regional Medical Center. Age 76 years. The daughter of the late Hugo and Dorothea (Godemann) Schmidt was born January 21, 1935 in Falls City, NB. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Davison, MI. Esther was formerly employed in the banking industry and was a Red Cross volunteer for many years. She is survived by her children; Thomas (his girlfriend; Denise Maxwell) Rusch of Flint, MI and Bethany Rusch of Bay City, Mi., one grandchild; Katie Rusch of Bay City, one sister and brother-in-law; Evelyn and Don Spychalski of Bay City, MI, her nieces and nephew; Gail and Don Haiderer and Lisa Beyer, many great nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband; Rev. Lowell H. Rusch whom she married June 8, 1957 in Zion Lutheran Church and he passed away in 1987. Funeral and Committal Services will take place on Friday, December 30, 2011at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with private interment following in Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Esther will be taken to the church on Friday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
