Harding, Ethel M. Formerly of Bay City Mrs. Harding passed away early Saturday morning April 21, 2012 at the Holt Senior Care Center in Holt, age 99. The daughter of the late Fred Carvey and Mayme (Womeldorf) Carvey, she was born February 13, 1913 in Bay City. Ethel was a very active lifetime member of the former Covenant Presbyterian Church, and was currently a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the former Tillie-Rebekah Lodge I.O.O.F. in Bay City where she was Past Noble Grand and Past Vice Grand and then was an active member of the former Saginaw Rebekah Lodge #253 I.O.O.F. She worked for many years as a line supervisor at Evenknit Hosiery Mills in Bay City and then moved to Detroit to work at a machine parts plant during the war effort. Ethel then moved back to Bay City and on December 30, 1944 she married Arthur W. Harding in Westminster Presbyterian Church. Arthur preceded her in death on April 13, 1967. Mrs. Harding is survived by her three children, Roger Harding of Rogue River, OR, Mary Anne Krueger of St. Joseph, MI and Brenda (Bill) Schmidt of Holt, MI; grandchildren, Justin (Kari McDaniel) Krueger of Anchorage, AK, Jeremy Krueger of Milford, Sarah (Joshua) Kittleman of Shelby Twp., Joshua (Kristin) Schmidt of Defiance, OH, Jennifer (Brett) Grime of Archbold, OH, Holly Schmidt of Chicago and Alison Schmidt of Holt; great-grandchildren, Vivian McDaniel, Ethan & Asher Kittleman and Cole Schmidt; numerous nieces & nephews; former son-in-law, Larry Krueger of Delavan, WI; and former daughter-in-law, Janet Harding of Grants Pass, OR. Mrs. Harding was also preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, Fred Carvey, Mabel Hayward, Doris Churchill and Betty Chinn. The funeral service will take place at 11:00am on Wednesday April 25, 2012 at the Gephart Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Isaac Chung with interment following at Floral Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 7:00 to 9:00pm, Tuesday from 2:00 to 8:00pm and on Wednesday from 10:00am until time of service.
