Floyd "Jim" Janowiak, of Bay City, Michigan passed away early Wednesday morning November 16, 2011 at Brian's House, age 90. The son of the late Frank & Helen (Michalak) Janowiak, he was born April 29, 1921 in Bay City. Floyd served with the U.S. Army during WWII. He retired in 1981 from Bay City Powertrain where he was a machine operator for over 40 years. He was an avid golfer and fisherman. Mr. Janowiak is survived by his four children, Rita Brasie of Virginia, Cheryl (Tom) Kelley of Higgins Lake, Judy (Dick) Commire of Bay City and Jerry (Julie) Janowiak of Kawkawlin; seven grandchildren, Larry, Todd, Lisa, Tommy, Ashley, Stephanie and Kellie; and two great-grandchildren, Hayli and Dylan. Besides his parents, Floyd was also preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor Janowiak; his second wife, Barbara Janowiak; and his two sisters, Leona and Rita. The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00am on Friday November 18, 2011 at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Fr. Gerald E. Balwinski with interment following at Floral Gardens Cemetery where Military Honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army and the Bay County Veterans Council. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2:00 to 9:00pm and on Friday from 10:00am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Brian's House.
