Frank passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Mc Laren Bay Special Care. Age 79 years. The son of the late William and Mary (Reczek) Phillips was born September 17, 1932 in Rutland, Vermont. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Frank retired from Western Union and as a Handyman for Bay County Division on Aging. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, woodworking, hunting and fishing. Frank served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years the former Grace LaBelle. Also surviving are four daughters and three son-in-laws; Susan and David Kepsel, Linda and Bruce Boman, Nancy Phillips and Jane and Jeff Reid, his grandchildren; Gary, Sean, Andrea, Robert, Brandon and Andrew, his great grandchildren; Juliette, Gavin and Payton, two sisters and two brothers-in-law; Florence and James Fohey and Mary and Bob Elton, one sister-in-law; Kathleen Phillips, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister-in-law; William Phillips and Stanley and Geraldine Phillips. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Mc Laren Bay Special Care, Dr. Keith Moody and Dr. Chakravarthi for the kind and compassionate care given to our loved one during his time of need. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will be celebrated Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 12:00 o'clock Noon at St. James Catholic Church followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Bill Gruden with private burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Bad Axe MI. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Frank will be taken to the church on Saturday to lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers memorial cards for Bay County Division on Aging Memorial Garden will be available at the funeral home. www.gephartfuneralhome.com
