Mr. Bishop passed away Sunday, August 25, 2013 at his residence. The son of the late Franklin I. and Laura Bishop was born May 21, 1929 in Bay City, MI. He was a member of Essexville Baptist Community Church. Mr. Bishop retired from Consumers Energy Karn Weadock Plant 1 and 2 as a boiler operator. He enjoyed woodworking, antiquing, bowling, golfing and fishing. Mr. Bishop served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Left behind to cherish his memories are his children and grandchildren; Craig (Holli) Bishop, their children; Beth (Erik) Arvo, Megan (her fiancé Ian Baert) Bishop, Amy Jo (Dennis) Weaver, their children; Alexa and Logan Weaver, Steven (Julie) Bishop, their children; Amara and Janae Bishop, his sister; Elaine Paeth, his brothers; Gary (Sharon) Bishop and Richard (Agatha) Bishop, his-sister-in-law; Sandy Smith, many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife; Marilyn Bishop, his brothers-in-law; Al Paeth and Norman Smith, his nephew; Albert "Bud" Paeth. An extra special thank you to Heartland Hospice and Julie and Steve Bishop for taking such great care of dad. Funeral Services will take place Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. Officiating will be Rev. Richard Kinnamon with private interment in Elm Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Military Honors will be conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
