Frank passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at the Carriage House at the age of 87 years. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio on November 25, 1932 to the late Earl and Emma (Smith) Crabtree. Frank served his country in the United States Army and while stationed in Germany met his future wife Frieda Nolp. They married on December 30, 1955 in Germany and spent 64 years together. Frank was a member of St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. He worked and retired in 1986 from Saginaw Steering Gear after 38 years. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and walked the Mackinaw Bridge for 35 years.
Frank is survived by his wife, Frieda; sons, Jeffrey (Susan), Scott (Darlene Baker) and Brian (Sandra); grandchildren, Greg (Laura), Matthew (Jennifer), Stephanie (Jason) Lee, Sarah (Ryan) Absher, Owen and Dalton; nine great grandchildren; brothers, Leonard (Frieda) and LeRoy (Suzanne); sisters, Shirley (Victor) Roemer, Judy (Frank) Shinske, Carol (Jim) Cowlbeck and Marilyn (Ted) Simpson and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Emily Lee; brothers, Elmer and Earl; sisters, Thelma and Joyce and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Crabtree.
Funeral and Committal service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 13, 2020 at St. Bartholomew Ev. Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Rev. Larry Seafert with private burial in Heavenly Rest Cemetery. Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mr. Crabtree will be taken to the church on Monday to lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
