Frank passed away Sunday morning, May 25, 2014 at Bay Shores Nursing Home. Age 81 years. The son of the late Frank R. and Victoria Palmer was born March 27, 1933 in Bay City, MI. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Frank retired from the General Motors Plant in Defiance, Ohio. He was a former member of the American Legion Post #18 and Amvets Post #22. Frank enjoyed bowling, camping and traveling. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife the former Gail A. Mac Kenzie whom he married April 11, 1964, his children and their spouses; Jeanne (John) Bolzman, Donald Valead, Crystal Palmer, Lee-Ann Yankovich, Candace Palmer, Mary-Ellen (Patrick) Babcock and Matthew (Renee) Palmer, 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers; Donald and Richard Palmer. The Funeral Liturgy and Rite of Committal will take place Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. The celebrant will be Rev. Fr. James Carlson followed by Military Honors conducted by the Bay County Veterans Council with cremation following. The family will be present at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday to receive family and friends from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. The Vigil for the Deceased will take place Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Frank will be taken to the church to lie in state on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
